Owens Corning® Fiberglas™ FLEXWRAP® is a flexible insulation product primarily used for pipe and tank insulation. Our Fiberglas™ FLEXWRAP® is made from small pieces of glass that are bound together with a special type of glue to create a flexible, blanket-like material. This fiberglass blanket is bonded with thermosetting resin to make it both bendable and sturdy. Flexible fiberglass insulation has fibers that are oriented to provide both good compressive strength and pliability during installation, making it an excellent choice for wrapping around surfaces or objects such as pipes, ducts, and tanks.

Our flexible fiberglass insulation is a cost-effective choice for larger-sized pipes and irregular shapes. The insulation blankets wrap easily, saving time and effort. Plus, Fiberglas™ FLEXWRAP® does not need to be very thick to keep things warm, thanks to its low heat conductivity. This lower thickness requirement conserves energy and has the potential to reduce insulation costs. FLEXWRAP® insulation is suitable for operating temperatures up to 850°F (454°C) and is available in both FRK and ASJ MAX facings.

Standards Codes Compliance

  • ASTM C1393 "Standard Specification for Perpendicularly Oriented Mineral Fiber Roll and Sheet Thermal Insulation for Pipes and Tanks"; Types I, II IIIA, IIIB; Category 2
  • Doesn't contain the fire retardant decabrominated diphenyl ether (decaBDE)
1. Limited to single layer application.
2. The surface burning characteristics of these products have been determined in accordance with ASTM E84. This standard should be used to measure and describe the properties of materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard or fire risk of materials, products or assemblies under actual fire conditions. However, results of this test may be used as elements of a fire risk assessment which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use. Values are reported to the nearest 5 rating.
3. Preproduction qualification testing complete and on file. Chemical analysis of each production lot required for total conformance.

Applications

  • Pipe and Equipment
  • Pipe and Equipment > Equipment
  • Pipe and Equipment > Equipment > Mechanical Room
  • Pipe and Equipment > Process Piping
  • Pipe and Equipment > Process Piping > Above Ground Piping
  • Pipe and Equipment > Process Piping > Above Ground Piping > Flatwork

FLATWORK

Flexible insulation wrap easily conforms to commonly found irregular shapes and corners in flatwork applications. Apply it to seal gaps around doors, windows, and other wall openings. Create a more energy-efficient and comfortable environment by insulating those areas, preventing drafts and heat loss.

Mechanical Room

Within mechanical rooms our flexible fiberglass insulation is used to insulate tanks, pipes, HVAC ducts, and storage vessels. Insulate these components with Fiberglas™ FLEXWRAP® to help prevent heat loss and condensation, improving energy efficiency and HVAC system performance.

PIPING

Use our flexible fiberglass insulation to maintain consistent temperatures within the pipes, preventing heat loss for hot fluids and condensation for cold fluids. Insulating piping helps to ensure energy efficiency and prevent thermal issues, making it especially valuable for commercial piping systems.
