History
Owens Corning Laboratory facilities are world class and have been conducting acoustics research since the 1940s. The Acoustics Research Center (ARC) was established at the Granville site in 1959 and originally known as the Energy Research Facility, which housed both the Acoustic and Thermal labs. Together, they played a pivotal role in the groundbreaking advancements in both thermal and acoustic research, as well the development of fire suppression technologies.
