2017 Shingle Color of the Year

Sedona Canyon

Inspired by Nature

As a nod to the gravitational and tactile quality of wood which makes us want to touch it as well as the calming influence of blue in our lives, we are excited to name Sedona Canyon, of our Duration® Designer Colors Collection shingles, as the Owens Corning Roofing 2017 SHINGLE COLOR OF THE YEAR. It is a color that both grounds us and allows us to have greater versatility in color choice, no matter what the season.

Picking the 2017 Shingle Color of the Year

The art of picking a roofing color of the year is complex. A good roof color allows you to feel at one with nature in one season then on to light and airy the next—a good roof color can both work with all of your exterior elements and natural surroundings and still reflect your color personality. Sedona Canyon is the perfect roof color to do this. It’s warm and reminiscent of wood shake shingles but is much more nuanced with a variety of subtle undertones, so that it delivers a color experience that wood could never match. Burnt umber, chestnut and butterscotch hues with a twist of blue (which can read as blue, gray or purple depending upon other exterior elements) help give a Sedona Canyon roof depth and dimension as well as an outstanding color effect.
